Blue Man Group is a wildly popular entertainment phenomenon currently in an open-ended run at Chicago’s Briar Street Theatre. The production provides its audience with a unique and thrilling multi-sensory experience that fuses innovative theatrical spectacle and powerful original music with hilarious comedy, art, vaudeville and science to create a performance experience unlike any other.
The silent, inquisitive Blue Man character was the brainchild of three forward-thinking friends – Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton and Chris Wink – who pooled their multifarious talents and interests to create a theatrical presentation that was completely new. With an infectious score, performed on custom-made instruments invented by Blue Man musicians, dazzling visuals and an irresistible sense of fun, the first Blue Man Group production was an immediate hit at New York City’s Astor Place Theatre, where it continues to play to sold-out audiences.
