Millennium Park Homepage > Art & Architecture > McCormick Tribune Ice Rink and Plaza
Grab your ice skates and hit the rink in winter or dine al fresco in summer and enjoy one of the best views in Chicago.
From mid-November to mid-March, the McCormick Tribune Plaza is home to the 16,000 square foot ice skating rink, offering visitors one of the best views of architecture in Chicago’s famed Michigan Avenue streetwall.
Now in its eleventh season, the rink is scheduled to remain open through Sunday, March 11, 2012 this year (weather permitting). Admission to the rink is free and skates are available to rent for $10.
In the summer, visitors can enjoy al fresco dining on the plaza at the Park Grill Restaurant. The Café on the McCormick Tribune Plaza will re-open for the season in May. Reservations can be made by calling 312.521.PARK (7275) or visiting the Park Grill's website.
The Plaza has been made possible through a gift from the McCormick Tribune Foundation.
Millennium Park is located in the heart of downtown Chicago. It is bordered by Michigan Avenue to the west, Columbus Drive to the east, Randolph Street to the north and Monroe Street to the south.
