What neighborhood do you live in?
I live in a converted printing house on Fulton Market, in the West Loop. We have a great view of Chicago’s skyline from our deck. There are lots of great restaurants around us.
What is your favorite thing about Chicago?
You can travel the world by just going from a neighborhood to another: from Chinatown to the Ukrainian Village, from Devon Avenue to Argyle Street, Greek Town, Taylor Street and Pilsen.
What is your favorite neighborhood and why?
The Loop: I am a big architecture fan and the loop is the most impressive display of modern architecture in the world.
Where do you like to go for fun?
Fulton Lounge on Fulton Market. Great atmosphere and great martinis.
What is your favorite restaurant?
Pegasus in Greek Town. They have a great terrace on the roof, with a great view of downtown. It’s paradise in summer.
Favorite pizza place?
Macello on Lake Street (1235 West Lake Street). Excellent!
Favorite Chicago tradition?
Early in spring on a Sunday morning, watching all the bridges of the Chicago River open to let tens and tens of boats sail from their dry docks to the Lake. Same thing in fall, when the boats go back to the docks.
Cubs or Sox?
The Bulls.
Favorite place in Chicago?
The Crown Fountain in Millennium Park. One could look at the faces for hours! My daughters loves to splash into it. Then go to the Art Institute to go see its amazing collection of French Impressionists.
Favorite hidden spot?
North Avenue Beach in winter. It’s in plain view, but nobody goes. Beautiful and peaceful. It cleanses the mind.
