Joyce

Artist; Chicago resident since 1974; married with two children; lives in the Lincoln Park neighborhood
What neighborhood do you live in?
I live in Lincoln Park-DePaul. It is a wonderful, picturesque neighborhood, with great neighbors, and was a fabulous place to raise my sons. Everything I need is within walking distance. The library, art galleries, parks, theatres, movies, car repair, food markets, shops of all stripes; you name it, it’s here and a quick trip by Brown Line gets me to the Loop.
What is your favorite thing about Chicago?
The lake blew me away when I arrived from Philadelphia, but the world class museums can’t be beat.
What is your favorite restaurant?
John’s Place is one favorite and every Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. We are Frequent Diners.
Favorite pizza place?
Pizzeria Uno
Favorite Chicago tradition?
We have gone to the July 3rd fireworks since my sons were tiny.
Cubs or Sox?
Sox
Where can you find the best view of the Chicago skyline?
Navy Pier
Where do you like to bring visiting friends or out-of-town guests?
To River North, Bronzeville, or wherever I am exhibiting my work: Woman Made Gallery, Nicole Gallery, Griffin Gallery, Gallery Guichard or the DuSable Museum (among others).
